Allergen & Food Safety Policy

At Bites to Share, we take food safety and allergen information seriously. Our products are handmade in a food preparation environment where a range of ingredients and allergens are handled.

1. Allergens

Our products may contain or come into contact with ingredients containing allergens, including:

  • wheat and gluten;

  • milk and dairy;

  • eggs;

  • soy;

  • peanuts;

  • tree nuts, including almonds, pistachios, macadamias and other nuts; and

  • other ingredients that may cause allergic reactions or intolerances.

Specific allergens will depend on the product, flavour and ingredients used.

2. Cross-Contact

Because Bites to Share produces multiple products in the same kitchen and uses shared equipment and preparation areas, we cannot guarantee that products are completely free from traces of allergens.

This includes products that may not intentionally contain a particular allergen.

For this reason, we are unable to guarantee that our products are suitable for customers with severe or life-threatening food allergies.

3. Dietary Requirements

If you have an allergy, intolerance or specific dietary requirement, please contact us before placing your order.

We will provide available ingredient and allergen information to help you make an informed decision.

Please do not assume that a product is suitable for your dietary requirements based solely on its flavour, name or description on our website.

4. Ingredient Information

Ingredients may vary between products and may change from time to time due to supplier availability or product formulation.

Customers should contact us for the most current allergen and ingredient information before ordering if this information is important to their health or dietary requirements.

5. Food Preparation and Handling

Bites to Share takes reasonable steps to prepare, package and handle food in a clean and hygienic manner and in accordance with applicable food safety requirements.

Our products are prepared, packaged and stored using appropriate food-handling practices.

6. Storage

Customers should follow any storage instructions provided with their order.

Unless otherwise specified, products should be kept in the conditions recommended by Bites to Share and consumed within the recommended timeframe.

Once an order has been received by the customer, the customer is responsible for appropriate storage and handling of the products.

7. Custom Orders

Customers requesting custom products are responsible for informing Bites to Share of any relevant allergy or dietary requirement before production begins.

Where an allergy or dietary requirement cannot reasonably be accommodated due to our ingredients, equipment or preparation environment, we will advise the customer.

8. Responsibility for Allergies

Bites to Share provides allergen information to assist customers in making informed purchasing decisions.

Customers with serious or life-threatening allergies should carefully consider whether our products are suitable for them due to the possibility of allergen cross-contact.

If you are unsure whether a product is suitable for you, please contact us before ordering.

9. Food Safety Concerns

If you believe you have received a product that may be unsafe, please stop consuming the product and contact us immediately.

Where appropriate, we may request details of the product, order and circumstances, including photographs, batch information or other relevant information so that we can investigate the issue.

10. Australian Food Laws

Bites to Share aims to comply with applicable Australian and New South Wales food safety and allergen requirements, including relevant requirements under the Food Act 2003 (NSW) and the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code.

Nothing in this policy limits any rights or remedies available to customers under applicable law.
